The quickest way to destroy a map in to open it full out in
the open air. There is always sufficient breeze to catch it and start small
tears which quickly spread. It to important to fold a map so that any part
can be referred to without refolding.
|
| a. First, fold the map in half down its longest length with
the map showing outwards. In this case it should be along the line A-B shown
here. |
|
|
|
b. Second, fold across the other way, concertina fashion.
Each fold should be about the same width as the deep pink segments of the
map (which will eventually form the back and front of the folded map). Fold
along the lines C-D, E-F, G-H, I-J, K-L, M-N and O-P as shown to the left
and below. |
| c. Finally, fold the concertinaed map over the other way,
as shown along the line Q-R below, so that the back and front of the folded
map have the deep pink coloured segments showing. |

The map can now be opened up easily to the appropriate section
required. |
